Brow Lift in Beverly Hills & Los Angeles
As you age, your skin naturally loses some of its youthful resilience. On the upper portion of your face, this can result in deep forehead wrinkles and sagging eyebrows. When your facial muscles are at rest, without expression, you can look worried, angry, and tired. If your eyebrows droop far enough, the changes can interfere with your vision. A brow lift, sometimes referred to as a forehead lift, corrects these problems of an aging forehead, smoothing forehead lines and wrinkles and raising eyebrows that have sagged. In the hands of a skilled plastic surgeon, using the latest techniques, the subtle, rejuvenating effects of a brow lift can make you look younger and both more alert and more relaxed.

Choosing Dr. Feldmar for Your Beverly Hills Brow Lift
A brow lift can make you look younger, refreshed, and happier by raising your eyebrows and smoothing lines and wrinkles on your forehead. A brow lift for aging forehead can also, in some cases, correct drooping eyelids, when the problem is caused primarily by lowered eyebrows.
A brow lift might benefit you if you’re bothered by:
- Horizontal lines across your forehead
- Wrinkles or lines on the bridge of your nose
- Vertical frown lines between your eyebrows (sometimes called “11s”)
- Sagging eyebrows or hooded eyes, which can result in drooping upper eyelids
- Brow asymmetry, with one eyebrow lower than the other
If you’re bothered by both lowered eyebrows and drooping upper eyelids, Dr. Feldmar, in his consultation with you, can determine whether a brow lift or upper eyelid surgery with brow lift will address your concerns. You can see the relationship between your eyebrows and upper eyelids for yourself by looking in a mirror, placing your fingers on your forehead just above your eyebrows, and gently pushing upward to raise your eyebrows.
Your Brow Lift Consultation in Los Angeles
In your consultation, Dr. Feldmar will ask questions to understand your goals for the surgery and your medical history, including your current medications. He will examine you to assess the quality of the skin and underlying tissue on the upper portion of your face. If you’re bothered by both drooping eyebrows and eyelids, he will also examine your eyelids. Dr. Feldmar will make recommendations, explain the surgical approach he recommends, and what you can expect throughout the process, as well as brow lift costs and potential risks. He will take the time to answer all of your questions.
Dr. Feldmar’s goal, and the goal of everyone at Feldmar Aesthetics, is to help you make informed decisions, have realistic expectations, and feel comfortable through each step in your experience.
Are You a Good Candidate for a Brow Lift?
As part of your consultation, Dr. Feldmar will determine whether brow lift surgery is an appropriate and safe option for you based on your medical history and the condition of the skin and underlying tissue of your forehead.
You are probably a good candidate if you:
- Are unhappy with the appearance of your face because of drooping eyebrows or lines and wrinkles in your forehead
- Are in generally good health with no medical conditions that increase your risks
- Do not smoke, or can quit smoking for several weeks before and after your surgery
- Have realistic expectations for the results of the surgery

How Is Brow Lift Surgery Performed?
Brow lift surgery is performed in our state-of-the-art Swall Surgery Center in Beverly Hills, designed and built to our specifications to provide safe, high-quality, personalized patient care. Brow lift surgery is performed on an outpatient basis, using either general anesthesia or a local anesthetic with sedation.
Dr. Feldmar uses one of three methods in performing a brow lift procedure in Beverly Hills.
In the classic method, an incision is made along or just behind the natural hairline. This continuous incision extends from the tip of one ear to the tip of the other. When the incision is placed behind the hairline, the resulting scar is completely concealed. When the incision is placed along the hairline, the procedure can pull the hairline down to correct a high forehead. Once the incision is made, the skin of the forehead is raised and smoothed, and a strip of excess skin is removed. The underlying muscle may also be repositioned to create even more natural-looking results.
The second method is an endoscopic brow lift, which uses an endoscopy for a less-invasive approach. In this method, several small incisions are made within the hairline and an endoscopic camera and tools are used to lift and reposition the underlying muscles and connective tissues. The skin is then lifted and anchored to the repositioned muscles using temporary or permanent internal sutures. This method causes less bruising and swelling in recovery and avoids the risks of general anesthesia.
A third method, the direct brow lift, is performed with incisions along the tops of the eyebrows. This method is used to raise the eyebrows when forehead lines and wrinkles are not a concern. Because the resulting scars are right above the brows, this method is typically used only with patients who have bushy eyebrows.
Brow lift surgery typically takes one to two hours, depending on the method used and the extent of the procedure. When you have recovered from the anesthesia, you can go home. Arrange ahead of time to have a friend or family member drive you and stay with you for the first night.
What to Expect During Brow Lift Recovery
You can expect bruising and swelling in the days immediately after your brow lift procedure. You’ll be instructed to sleep with your head elevated to minimize swelling and promote healing. You may also experience some discomfort at first, which can be managed with pain medication.
Dr. Feldmar will provide instructions on how to care for yourself as you heal, prevent infection, return for follow-up appointments, and gradually resume your normal activities.
Most patients choose to take a week to ten days off from work and other activities, but every patient is different, and Dr. Feldmar will work closely with you to determine an appropriate schedule for resuming physical activity.
Your final brow lift results will be visible after four to six weeks as swelling and bruising resolve.

Frequently Asked Questions About Brow Lift
Yes, both men and women can benefit from a brow lift to address drooping brows, forehead wrinkles, or other signs of aging.
When the incision is placed behind the hairline, brow lift scars are fully concealed underneath your hair. When the incision is placed along the hairline, the resulting scars are hidden in the natural border between your forehead and your hair. These scars will be most noticeable for the first few months when they are darker and redder. They will gradually fade, becoming virtually invisible. Any scars that bother you before they have faded can be concealed with makeup.
A brow lift for facial rejuvenation corrects signs of aging in the forehead and eyebrows. The procedure can be combined with eyelid surgery to raise drooping eyelids; a brow lift with facelift aims to correct wrinkles and other signs of aging in the lower part of the face; or non-surgical brow lift and other treatments can improve the texture of facial skin.
As with any cosmetic procedure, a brow lift carries some risks. These include the possibility of infection, bleeding, or an adverse reaction to the anesthesia. Dr. Feldmar will discuss these risks as part of your consultation. It’s important to understand the risks before undergoing any elective surgery.
The cost of a brow lift procedure varies with the extent of the changes being made and the complexity of the procedure. They include the surgeon’s fee and the costs of anesthesia, the surgical facility, medications, and garments worn after surgery. The costs of cosmetic surgery procedures are not typically covered by medical insurance. Dr. Feldmar will explain the costs in detail as part of your consultation.
Imagine what a scowl looks like; people wrinkle their forehead, tighten their eyes, and frown. Sadly, natural aging can cause you to look angry, tired, or grumpy.
The common age group for brow lift candidates is between ages 40 to 70; however, younger people may have deep forehead creases due to genetics, and can also benefit from this procedure. If you’re still unsure, schedule a consultation to ask Dr. Feldmar directly.
When you visit Dr. Feldmar for your brow lift consultation in his Beverly Hills office, tell him your fears. Your consultation will give you an opportunity to discuss your areas of concerns and during this time, Dr. Feldmar will explain your options about anesthetics so you feel comfortable and confident with the procedure.
