Discovering the Transformative Power of Plastic Surgery

While a surgical resident, Dr. Feldmar traveled to Bolivia with Rotoplast International to perform facial reconstruction on children with cleft lips and palates. That experience focused his interest in plastic and reconstructive surgery, showing the life-changing benefits it can bring. He also traveled to Rwanda, where, in 2007, he opened the first medical clinic in Gisenyi, the country’s second-largest city, to provide reconstructive medical care to people injured in the genocide ten years earlier.

Dr. Feldmar continues to volunteer his free time on medical missions, where he performs facial reconstruction surgery for patients with facial defects.

I am fortunate to have a lifelong passion that brings joy to people through my work. Being a plastic surgeon has never been a job for me. It’s not what I do, it’s who I am.

Board Certification and Professional Memberships & Affiliations

Dr. Feldmar is double board-certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS) and the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS).

The American Board of Plastic Surgery is the gold standard for certification in plastic surgery. While many other “boards” offer certification, the ABPS is the only plastic surgery board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).

To become certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, a surgeon must graduate from an accredited medical school and then complete at least five years of additional training as a resident surgeon in an accredited program. This five-year training period must include at least two years devoted entirely to plastic surgery.

Whereas the majority of plastic surgeons today have only completed five years of surgical training, Dr. Feldmar completed over seven years, obtaining board certification in both general surgery and plastic surgery.

Get To Know Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon Dr. David Feldmar

I have been curious about the body and medicine for as long as I can remember. Although I didn’t come from a family of physicians, I have been drawn to medicine for as long as I can remember. My most significant event that started this journey occurred when I was 6 years old. I suffered a ruptured appendix, which led me to a prolonged hospital stay, and it left an indelible mark on my conscience. From that, my childhood and young adulthood was filled with the curiosities of the human body and physiology.

Seeing the smile on a patient after their surgery is completed is one of the best feelings of gratification that I experience.

In 2007, I started my own clinic in Agencia Rwanda for reconstructive and orthopedic surgeons to help the victims of the Rwanda genocide. I volunteer my free time to go on medical missions for facial reconstructions for patients with facial defects.

I have been a life-long builder and inventor, and enjoy restoring classic automobiles. I’m also a pro Scuba diver, spearfisher, and enjoy archery. I also participate in over-landing and adventure desert dirt racing. I am also involved in conservation, being involved in multiple organization to protect California’s natural forest and open lands.

I dedicate myself to adopting veteran military dogs after they are retired from service. I’m also a philanthropist and donates to multiple organizations both medical and local.

Our practice is a freestanding all-inclusive plastic surgery center. We pride ourself in taking an individual approach to each patients and each patient cosmetics desire. I work closely with each patient to choose a custom surgical plan. In addition, we believe in developing lifelong relationships with our patients, and that the door is open for as long as I’m buisness!

I consider myself an artist first and a scientist second. I use both art and science to get the best results.

Unlike most plastic surgery centers, I will will only operate on cases that are reasonable and will offer the best result.

We are a boutique practice; we are very patient focused. We are conservative in our approach to aesthetics in achieving natural results rather than overdone trendy look. As a high-end aesthetic and plastic surgery institute, we invest in all the top equipment. I spend time creating a top quality surgical team. personally training and vetting each member of my team. They have my full trust and support.
