Breast Lift with Implants in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles, CA
A breast lift with implants, or breast lift with augmentation, combines two of the most popular plastic surgery procedures to raise and reshape sagging breasts and increase breast volume. A breast lift, or mastopexy, corrects sagging and gives the breasts a perkier and younger-looking profile. Breast augmentation increases breast size. Together, the procedures can reshape and enhance your breasts to make them rounder, fuller, and more uplifted, creating more attractive and feminine curves for a more proportionate figure. A breast lift with augmentation procedure can also correct breast asymmetry.

Planning Your Breast Lift with Implants Procedure
Breast lift with implants surgery is a personal experience, and the specifics of each procedure are tailored to the unique features and wishes of the patient. Implant choice is an important part of planning for the procedure, as implants come in different types, shapes, and sizes. Review a description of implant choices by reading the breast augmentation page.
Dr. Feldmar places great importance on patient-doctor communication, particularly in planning the surgery at his Beverly Hills practice. In your breast lift with implants consultation, Dr. Feldmar will ask questions to understand the changes you want and encourage you to ask as many questions as necessary. He will perform an examination to assess skin elasticity, the extent of drooping, nipple position, and volume and distribution of your breast tissue. Based on your conversation and his examination, he will recommend a surgical approach. He will fully explain the plan he recommends and what you can expect throughout the process.
Dr. Feldmar’s goal, and the goal of everyone at Feldmar Aesthetics, is to help you make informed decisions, have realistic expectations, and feel comfortable through each step in your breast lift with implants experience.
Are You a Good Candidate for a Breast Lift with Implants?
During your breast lift with implants consultation, Dr. Feldmar will ask questions to understand your medical history and the changes you hope to make. Based on your conversation and his examination, Dr. Feldmar will determine whether a breast lift with implants is the appropriate option.
You are probably a good candidate if you:
- Are unhappy with the shape and appearance of your breasts due to sagging
- Would like your breasts to be larger and fuller
- Are in generally good health with no medical conditions that increase your risks
- Are not significantly overweight
- Do not smoke, or are able to quit smoking for several weeks before and after your surgery
- Have realistic expectations for the results
It’s best to wait until you are done having children before having a breast lift with implants as pregnancy and breastfeeding can lead to renewed stretching and sagging. If you do plan to have children after your breast lift with implants procedure, be sure to discuss this in your consultation.

How Is Breast Lift with Implants Surgery Performed?
Breast lift with implants surgery is performed in our state-of-the-art Swall Surgery Center in Beverly Hills, designed and built to our specifications to provide safe, high-quality, personalized patient care. Breast lift with implants surgery is performed on an outpatient basis, using general anesthesia.
In the procedure, Dr. Feldmar will make incisions to remove excess skin, reposition breast tissue to reshape the breast and create a pocket for the implants, and place the implants. Depending on the changes to be made, he will take one of four approaches to incision location.
In a crescent lift, an incision is made along the top edge of the areola.
In a peri-areolar or “donut” lift, an incision is made in a full circle around the edge of the areola.
In a vertical or “lollipop” lift, one incision is made in a circle around the edge of the areola and a second is made in a straight line from the bottom edge of the areola to the center of the crease below the breast (the inframammary fold).
In an inverted T or “anchor” lift, three incisions are made: one around the edge of the areola, another in a vertical line from the bottom edge of the areola to the center of the crease below the breast, and a third along the curve of the crease below the breast.
Most breast lift with implants procedures take between two and three hours. After the planned changes have been made, the incisions are closed, and the procedure is complete. When you have recovered from the anesthesia, you can go home. You’ll need to arrange ahead of time to have a friend or family member drive you and stay with you for at least the first night.
What to Expect in Recovery from Breast Lift with Implants Surgery
Plan to rest at home for a few days after your surgery and have someone available to help you with household tasks. You won’t be able to lift anything heavy or reach above your head for the first few days. It’s common to feel some soreness at first, but this can be managed with pain medication. You can also expect swelling. Wearing a surgical bra will help control the swelling while supporting the breasts during the healing process. Drainage tubes may be placed beneath the skin to help reduce swelling.
Dr. Feldmar will provide instructions on how to care for the incisions to prevent infection, when to return for follow-up appointments, and how to gradually resume your normal activities. Most patients are able to return to work after 5 to 7 days, or a bit longer if the job requires lifting. You can start to exercise again after a month, beginning slowly and gradually building up to your regular exercise routine at about two months.
You’ll notice the enhancements to your breasts right away and will see the final results at about six months when all of the post-surgical swelling resolves.

Breast Lift with Implants FAQS in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles, CA
Breast lift with implants cost varies, depending on the extent and complexity of the procedure. They include the surgeon’s fee and the costs of anesthesia, the surgical facility, medications, and garments worn after surgery. The costs of cosmetic surgery procedures, such as breast lifts and breast augmentation, are not typically covered by medical insurance. Dr. Feldmar will explain the costs in detail as part of your consultation.
Dr. Feldmar will advise you to stop taking certain medications in the days leading up to the surgery to avoid interfering with healing or increase the risk of excessive bleeding. You’ll need to refrain from drinking or eating anything the night before your breast lift with implants, usually beginning at midnight. You’ll be instructed to shower with an anti-microbial soap the evening before and again the morning of the procedure.
As with any major surgery, a breast lift with implants procedure carries some risks. Breast lift with implants risks include the possibility of infection, bleeding, or an adverse reaction to the anesthesia. Dr. Feldmar will discuss these risks as part of your consultation. It’s important to understand the risks before undergoing any elective surgery.
